On the one-year anniversary of a horrible tragedy, a killer surfaces to strike at those involved. The film is uninhibited and mindless fun, and the kills are quite creative and gory. There are also some sequences that ramp up the tension amidst all the blood, such as the lengthy riot sequence that opens the film. "Your Lucky Day" is a twisty thriller that takes place largely in a convenience store where a lottery win has deadly consequences as greed drives the people in the store to make unlikely partnerships to get the money for themselves. The film stars Angus Cloud (in one of his last roles) as Sterling, a small-time drug dealer who decides to rob a would-be lottery winner of his ticket, leading to a night of double-crosses, shootouts, and death. There are some good performances here too from Cloud and Jessica Garza. While it certainly doesn't reinvent the wheel when it comes to thrillers, but it does have a few surprising twists that will keep you on your toes as the film goes on.
